What if your target market is tiny?

When your total addressable market is small, every message counts.

Let’s face it: most cold outreach advice is written for teams going after massive markets.

Spray-and-pray, A/B/C/D test 10 angles, automate everything - you know the drill. But what if your TAM (Total Addressable Market) is small?

When you’re targeting just a few hundred (or even a few dozen) accounts, you don’t get the luxury of being sloppy.

Here’s how to approach it:

Join Frank & Olivier later today as they go into detail on this exact issue & get tips on how to approach cold outreach with a small TAM:

1. Get radically clear on your ICP.

With a small TAM, guessing doesn’t cut it. Interview your best customers. Look at what unites them - size, industry, tech stack, pain points, timing. Every detail matters.

2. Shift from volume to precision.

You don’t need 500 leads a week. You need 5 that are exactly right. Focus on building a high-confidence list with verified contacts, real intent signals, and personalized context.

3. Treat every outreach like a job application.

Would you apply to a job with a generic template? Probably not - and neither should your email feel like one. Tailor your message to the person, not just the persona. Mention something specific from their site, blog, or LinkedIn activity.

4. Follow up thoughtfully.

Don’t hammer inboxes. Instead, treat follow-ups as part of a narrative. Bring new value or insight in each one - a case study, a quick idea, a fresh angle.

5. Use tech strategically, not mindlessly.

Leverage tools like Salesforge & Infraforge to automate the busy work (deliverability, DNS, sending logic, personalization etc.) so you can focus on what matters: finding accurate leads, managing responses, and booking real meetings.

When your TAM is small, quality beats quantity every time. Outreach becomes less about “scale” and more about strategy. The winners are the ones who treat every prospect like they actually matter - because in your case, they do.
